What
is Extreme Saving?
Extreme
saving is saving with a difference, it's doing everything you can
to save, earn and keep your money. It's more than just a quick fix,
it's a way of life, a philosophy.
Extreme
saving involves closely looking at our finances, at every outgoing
and incoming penny. It involves cutting down the outgoings and keeping
as much of the incomings as we can.
It
involves making sure we are never wasting money on anything unnecessary,
making sure we always have the best deals for us. It involves knowing
the system and making it work for us, in every area of our finances.
What
can we save on?
In
short, everything. There is always a better deal, a saving to be
made, a rewards card, a discount, a cut back.
Change
the little things, make some small lifestyle changes - stop buying
snacks when you are out (e.g. garage), cut down on take-aways, drink
water at work, stay away from the snack machine, cut down on mobile
use. Make the ultimate sacrifices, stop drinking on nights out and
quit smoking!
Save
around the house - electricity and fuel suppliers, buy energy saving
light bulbs, insulate your ceiling, add timers to your appliances,
turn the boiler down a notch . . .
Save
money on your car - don't use it! walk, cycle, use public transport.
Change your driving style to save fuel, change your car to something
more economical, take out a points card at the garage, don't buy
sweets at the garage!
When
do we need Extreme Saving?
Extreme
saving is good for everyone, no matter what your income our outgoings,
your age, or your profession. Everyone can make a saving somewhere.
Extreme
saving can come to the rescue when you find yourself sliding in
to debt or when you decide to save for something big, like a deposit
for a house, a car, a holiday or a wedding. However, Extreme Saving
should be a way of life and a long term commitment to yourself to
manage your finances and make your money work for you.
